Why boats and jetskis need tracking
Jetskis and small motor boats are frequent theft targets because they are light, trailerable, and often stored outside secure premises. Sail boats and yachts left in marinas for weeks need a way to confirm they have not drifted or been moved. Ferry boats and commercial vessels need continuous records for operational and maintenance reasons. A boat tracking device turns all of this into data: last known position, route history, and movement alerts outside a defined area.
How to choose a waterproof GPS tracker for boats
Marine use sets different priorities than road vehicles. Waterproofing is the first filter, since a tracker mounted near the hull, in an engine compartment, or exposed on deck will meet moisture and salt. Power source matters too: some boats have a stable 12V or 24V system, others need a device with its own backup battery for when the main battery is disconnected during winter storage.

Models such as the Teltonika FMC880 and FTC880 are built for easy installation and high position accuracy, useful where GPS signal is weaker near water. The FMT100 is waterproof by design and suited to smaller boats and jetskis. The FMC640 is positioned for yachts where more connectivity and integration options are expected. The TAT140 works as a backup tracker, reporting even if main power or the primary unit is compromised.
Installation and the subscription
Installation on a boat depends on hull material, available power, and where GPS and GSM signal reach best. Our installers choose a mounting point that keeps the antenna area clear while protecting the device from water exposure. Hardwired units connect to the boat's electrical system; battery-backed models can also hold position data through power interruptions.
Every tracker from Entopizo is sold with our own SIM card and access to our live tracking platform and mobile apps, delivered as a subscription. A tracker without subscription can still store a GPS chip, but without an active SIM and platform it cannot send live position, alerts, or history to your phone. Our subscription includes the SIM data plan, platform access, mobile app login, and configurable alerts such as geofence exit, movement detection, or power disconnection. This is what makes the hardware useful rather than just installed electronics.

Frequently asked questions
Can a GPS tracker work on a jetski?
Yes. A compact, waterproof unit such as the FMT100 or FMB204 fits discreetly on a jetski and reports position as long as it has power and signal coverage.
Does the tracker still work if the boat battery is disconnected?
Models with an internal backup battery, including the TAT140, continue to report or store data for a period even without external power, which is useful during storage.
What does the subscription actually include?
It includes our SIM card with data, access to the live tracking platform and mobile apps, and alert configuration. Without it, a tracker has no way to send its position anywhere.
Is there a tracker suited specifically to outboard engines?
Compact easy-install trackers such as the FTC880 or FTC921 work well near an outboard engine installation, prioritizing accuracy and simple mounting over size.
