MOTOR BOAT
Entopizo offers an outboard engine GPS tracker for motor boats, with waterproof installation, live tracking, and a subscription that includes our own SIM and pl
An outboard engine GPS tracker is installed on motor boats to monitor location, movement, and engine-related data for owners who keep their boat in a marina, on a trailer, or at a mooring without constant supervision. This category serves private boat owners, charter and rental operators, and boat dealers who need to track vessels after delivery.

Why motor boats need tracking
Motor boats spend long periods unattended, moored in marinas or stored on trailers at home, and the outboard engine itself is a frequent theft target since it can be removed and resold separately from the hull. A motor boat GPS tracker gives the owner visibility over both the boat's position and whether it has moved when it should not have, which matters for boats left at anchor, in rented berths, or in storage yards over winter.
How to choose the right tracker
Selecting an outboard motor tracker depends on where power is drawn from, how exposed the installation point is to water, and what level of detail the owner needs.
- Power source: some units connect to the boat's 12V system, others to the outboard's own wiring, so compatibility with the boat's electrical setup matters.
- Waterproofing: components near the engine or hull need a sealed, marine-rated body.
- Voltage range: boats and outboards vary in electrical configuration, and devices built for higher voltage tolerance, such as the Teltonika FTC881 4G, suit installations where standard voltage ranges are not guaranteed.
- Accuracy needs: for owners who want precise position reporting even during idle periods, devices like the Teltonika FTC880 4G are built around accuracy as the main feature.
For yachts or larger motor boats with more complex onboard systems, the Teltonika FMC640 4G is built specifically for that scale. For straightforward installations on mid-size motor boats, the Teltonika FMC880 4G and Teltonika FMT100 cover easy, waterproof setups without added complexity.
Installation and the subscription
Entopizo handles the physical installation, routing and sealing the wiring so it holds up in the marine environment, then connects the device to our own platform using our own SIM cards. The owner receives app access for live position, trip history, and alerts.
Some buyers look for an outboard engine tracking device without subscription. Without an active SIM connection, the tracker cannot report its position anywhere in real time, it can at best log data internally for later retrieval, which is not useful if the boat is stolen or the outboard is removed while the hull stays behind. Our subscription covers the SIM data plan, platform and app access, and alerts for unauthorized movement or geofence breaches, so the owner is informed as events happen rather than after the fact.
Real use cases
An owner who keeps the boat at a marina berth during the week gets an alert if the vessel moves outside the mooring area overnight. A charter company tracks each boat in its fleet to confirm location and usage between bookings. A dealer installs a tracker before handing over a new boat so the vessel can be located if it is not returned as agreed during a demo or test period.
Frequently asked questions
Does an outboard engine GPS tracker work without a subscription?
Not for live tracking. A tracker without an active subscription has no way to transmit location data, so you only get stored data if you physically recover the device. Entopizo trackers include our SIM and platform access so they transmit from the start.
Can the tracker detect if the outboard motor is removed?
Devices wired into the outboard's own electrical connection can detect disconnection or loss of power, which is useful if the motor is removed separately from the hull. We advise on the right model and wiring point during installation.
Which tracker suits a yacht rather than a small motor boat?
The Teltonika FMC640 4G is built for yachts and larger vessels with more onboard systems, while models like the Teltonika FMT100 or FMC880 4G suit simpler motor boat installations.
Is installation on a boat different from a car?
Yes, marine installation requires waterproofing and sealing of all connections, and in some cases attention to the specific voltage of the boat's or outboard's electrical system, which our installers handle during fitting.
