VANS
Find the right GPS tracker for vans and van fleets, with Teltonika hardware, installation, and live tracking on our own platform.
A GPS tracker for vans gives you a clear picture of where every vehicle is, how it is driven, and whether it is being used the way you expect. This category is built for van owners, small business operators, and fleet managers who need dependable location data, not just a dot on a map that updates once in a while. Whether you run a single delivery van or a fleet of twenty, the right device and the right subscription make the difference between data you can act on and data you ignore.
Below you will find Teltonika models suited to vans of different ages and electrical systems, from simple OBD-style installs to hardwired units with CAN bus reading. All of them connect to our platform through our own SIM cards, so you get live tracking without juggling separate contracts.

Why vans need tracking
Vans spend most of their life on the road, often driven by employees rather than owners, and often carrying goods or tools that matter. Van fleet tracking helps you confirm routes were followed, reduce unnecessary idling and detours, and respond quickly if a vehicle is used outside working hours. For single-van owners, the same tracker answers a simpler question: where is my van right now, and was it driven when it should not have been.
- Route and stop verification for deliveries and service calls
- Driving behavior data: harsh braking, speeding, idling
- Theft response: last known position and movement alerts
- Fuel and mileage insight through CAN bus or OBD data where supported
How to choose a tracker for your van
Start with power and installation. Some vans are wired in a way that suits a simple two-wire hardwired tracker, such as the Teltonika FMB920, while others benefit from a unit built for permanent installation with more inputs, like the Teltonika FMB120, which is positioned specifically for van use. If you want engine data such as fuel level, odometer, or engine hours read directly from the vehicle, look at models with CAN bus support, for example the Teltonika FMC150 or the Teltonika FMB140.
For fleets that already use alarm systems or want tracker behavior tied to ignition and door sensors, the Teltonika FMB130 is built around alarm scenarios. If cameras are part of your plan, camera-compatible models such as the Teltonika FMC125 let you pair footage with location events. Mounting matters too: some units are designed for easy, waterproof installation and tolerate rough environments better than others.
Installation and the subscription
We install the tracker correctly inside the van, test the GPS and GSM signal, and confirm it reports on the platform before we consider the job done. Installation location depends on the model: some units hide easily behind the dashboard, others need a position with a clearer view for GNSS reception.
The subscription includes our own SIM card already provisioned for data, access to the live tracking platform on web and mobile, and alerts for events such as ignition on, geofence entry or exit, and towing or movement without ignition. A tracker without a subscription can still store or send basic position data if you manage your own SIM and platform, but you lose our maintained platform, our alert configuration, support when something stops reporting, and the SIM already matched to the device. For a business van, that gap usually costs more in lost time than the subscription itself.
Real use cases
A courier company with six vans uses geofence alerts to confirm arrival at each delivery zone without calling drivers. A plumbing business with one van relies on the tracker mainly for after-hours theft protection, checking the app only when the van is parked somewhere unexpected. A refrigerated delivery fleet pairs a CAN bus model with temperature sensors to log both location and cargo condition on the same timeline.
Frequently asked questions
Which Teltonika tracker is best for a van fleet?
It depends on your vans and goals. The Teltonika FMB120 is aimed directly at van installations, while fleets wanting engine and fuel data should look at CAN bus models like the FMC150 or FMB140.
Can I get a GPS tracker for my van without a subscription?
A tracker needs a SIM and a platform to send live data somewhere. Without our subscription you would need to source and manage your own SIM and your own tracking software, losing our platform, alerts, and support.
Does the tracker show fuel use and driving behavior?
Models with CAN bus support, such as the FMC150 and FMB140, can read fuel level and engine data directly from the van's system. All models report driving events like speeding and harsh braking based on GPS and accelerometer data.
How is the tracker installed in a van?
We install it hardwired in a hidden, secure location with a clear view for signal, then test GPS and GSM reporting on our platform before finishing the job.
