WIRELESS SENSORS

Wireless GPS sensors using Bluetooth to monitor temperature, humidity, motion and door status without extra cabling.

11 products

Wireless GPS sensors communicate with a Teltonika tracker over Bluetooth, which means no extra cabling is needed to monitor temperature, humidity, motion, door openings or digital inputs across a vehicle or cargo area. This category is for fleet managers and installers who want a wireless fleet sensor that can be placed exactly where needed, including locations that are hard to reach with a cable, such as inside a trailer, a container, or a separate compartment.

It includes Teltonika and ELA Bluetooth sensors for temperature, temperature and humidity, motion, door status and data logging, along with the fuel cap with key for GPS and accessories such as the puck holder.

Why wireless monitoring suits modern fleets

A wireless vehicle sensor is practical where running a cable is impractical or where equipment is moved between vehicles. Refrigerated trailers, swap bodies, detachable cargo units and multi-compartment vehicles benefit from BLE GPS sensors that pair with the main tracker without rewiring every time the setup changes. This also simplifies installation and reduces points of failure associated with long cable runs.

How to choose among the sensor types

Each sensor targets a specific monitoring need.

  • Temperature only: the Teltonika BTSMP1 EN12830 sensor or the ELA Blue Puck T EN12830, both suited to cold chain compliance.
  • Compact temperature monitoring: the Blue Coin T sensor, useful where space is limited.
  • Temperature and humidity together: the Blue Puck RHT sensor.
  • Door or compartment opening: the Blue Puck MAG sensor.
  • Motion detection: the Blue Puck PIR sensor.
  • Digital input logging from external equipment: the Blue Puck DI.
  • Multiple parameters from a single device, including hazardous area use: the Teltonika EYE Sensor BTSMP, or the Atex-rated version for explosive atmospheres.
  • Fuel tank security: the fuel cap with key for GPS, paired with a compatible fuel sensor GPS setup.

The puck holder with sticker is used to mount the round Blue Puck sensors firmly on a flat interior surface. Battery life, Bluetooth range to the tracker, and the environment the sensor will face should all guide the choice, alongside whether EN12830 certification is required for the monitoring task.

Installation and the subscription

Wireless sensors pair with a compatible Teltonika tracker over Bluetooth; installation mainly involves mounting the sensor and confirming the pairing in the tracker configuration, which our installers handle. The subscription covers our own SIM card for data transmission from the tracker, access to the live tracking platform and mobile apps, and alerts built around sensor readings, such as a temperature excursion or an unexpected door opening.

A sensor without a subscription on the tracker side can still pair and transmit locally, but data will not reach a live platform, there will be no remote alerts, and no stored history for later review. Our subscription is what makes the sensor data usable for day-to-day fleet decisions rather than just a local reading.

Real use cases

A pharmaceutical distributor uses Blue Puck T sensors with EN12830 certification to document temperature compliance for every delivery. A logistics company fits Blue Puck MAG sensors to trailer doors to flag unauthorized access during long hauls. A fleet with equipment in hazardous areas uses the Atex multisensor for safe, compliant monitoring, and a fuel-sensitive operation protects its tank with the fuel cap with key for GPS.

Frequently asked questions

What does BTSMP183ZU02 refer to?

This is a Teltonika Bluetooth sensor model code; our EYE Sensor BTSMP and Atex EYE Sensor BTSMP listings are the relevant wireless multisensors in this family.

Do wireless sensors need their own battery?

Yes, Bluetooth sensors such as the Blue Puck and Blue Coin range run on an internal battery rather than drawing power through a cable.

Can these sensors work without our subscription?

They can pair with a tracker without one, but without an active subscription there is no live platform view, no remote alerts and no stored history.

Which sensor is certified for cold chain use?

The Teltonika BTSMP1 and the ELA Blue Puck T both carry EN12830 certification for temperature monitoring.
