CONTAINER
Entopizo offers a container GPS tracker with SIM and platform subscription for companies that need to locate and monitor shipping and storage containers.
A container gps tracker allows a business to locate a shipping or storage container at any point, whether it is sitting in a yard, loaded on a truck, or left at a client site. Entopizo provides this container tracking device to logistics companies, construction firms, and businesses that move or rent out containers and need visibility over where each unit is without relying on manual check-ins.

Why containers need tracking
A container has no engine and no ignition, so it cannot be tracked the way a vehicle is. It can be lifted, loaded onto a different truck, or left unattended for long stretches, and the only way to know its real position is a tracker fitted directly to the container itself. This is particularly relevant for companies renting out containers, moving them between sites, or needing proof of delivery and dwell time at a customer location.
A shipping container tracker also helps detect unauthorized movement, confirm that a container has actually reached its destination, and support billing when containers are left on site longer than agreed.
How to choose the right tracker
Since containers have no power supply, the tracker needs to run on its own battery for as long as possible between charges or replacements, and it needs a rugged, sealed enclosure, since it is mounted externally and exposed to weather, handling, and stacking.
- Battery autonomy, as containers are often unpowered for long periods
- Durable, weatherproof casing able to withstand outdoor exposure and rough handling
- Compact size for discreet mounting where it will not interfere with stacking or loading
- Reliable 4G connectivity for consistent reporting even from ports or storage yards
From our range, the Teltonika TAT140 4G is built as a battery-powered backup tracker, well suited to a container that has no electrical connection, offering extended standalone operation. The Teltonika FTC305 4G is a compact 4G unit, originally built for e-scooters, that also fits well on smaller containers or units where size and ease of mounting are priorities.
Installation and the subscription
Installation involves fixing the tracker to the container structure in a protected, concealed spot, with the antenna oriented for the best possible signal, since containers are often stacked or stored in areas with limited line of sight to cell towers.
Each tracker from Entopizo is supplied with our own SIM card and included access to our platform and mobile apps, under a subscription. This covers the mobile data connection, platform hosting, position history, and alerts for events such as movement outside expected hours or arrival at a geofenced zone. A tracker purchased without a subscription will still collect GPS data, but the owner has to arrange their own SIM, data plan, and software to actually view and use that data. Our subscription removes that burden and gives a working system from day one.
Real use cases
A container rental company tracks units delivered to construction sites to confirm pickup dates and bill accurately for extended stays. A logistics company monitors containers moving between a port and an inland yard to confirm they follow the expected route. A business storing goods in a container at a remote location gets an alert if the container is moved without authorization.
Frequently asked questions
Can a container be tracked if it has no power source?
Yes, the Teltonika TAT140 4G runs on its own internal battery and does not need any wiring or external power.
Does the tracker work inside a closed metal container?
Positioning the tracker outside or near an opening with a clear view of the sky gives the best signal, since metal enclosures can interfere with GPS and cellular reception.
What happens if I buy a tracker without a subscription?
The tracker can still record position data, but you would need to provide your own SIM card and platform to view it in real time. Our subscription includes the SIM, platform, and alerts.
How long does the battery last on a container tracker?
Battery life depends on reporting frequency and conditions, but units like the TAT140 are designed specifically for long-term standalone operation between charges.
